On a glorious Spring afternoon, we were treated to a fabulous game of rugby at LHS. Our Y5/6 team started the game superbly, keeping possession of the ball well and going through a number of phases before Jack stormed over for the first try of the game. LHS equalised soon after, but the first third ended all square with both sides coming close to taking the lead.
In the second third, Moyles Court continued to press, with Tommy having a particularly strong game in midfield and consistently making inroads into the LHS defence. Rohan was leading the tackle count at this stage and it was a good break from him that enabled Sam to dart through the LHS defence to regain the lead. LHS responded well with a couple of good tries, but another try from Jack meant that Moyles Court finished the second third in a strong position and looking dangerous.
The final third was a scintillating contest, with Moyles Court desperately trying to turn some good possession into scores. However, it was LHS that secured the win with a couple of fine solo tries, but what a game and what a performance.
Tommy and Rohan. Tommy for his bulldozing runs and immense support play and Rohan for his phenomenal tackle count.
