Moyles Court won the toss and elected to bowl first.
Edward opened the bowling and got the team off to a great start, taking 2 wickets in the first over of the game, putting Ballard straight on the back foot. Even when the opening spell from Edward and Harry was over, there was no let-up in the pressure, with Josh and Matthew doing a really good job in putting pressure on the batsmen. Josh took 3 wickets during his spell and Matthew bowled really tightly, getting one wicket only and conceding 5 runs from his allocation of 4 overs.
Edward then came on to bowl his last 2 overs and it was a great spell. His first over being a maiden, then he took a hatrick in his second over, to finish with 5 for 5 from his 4 overs. This was an excellent bowling performance with only 11 runs being scored from the bat; however the downside was that 32 extras were conceded which made Ballard’s final score a bit trickier than it needed to be.
The Moyles Court innings did not start well, losing Harry in the second over, this brought Edward to the crease and he looked busy from the start scoring a quick 7 before being caught and bowled. Callum took over the scoring and hit some nice shots and looked at ease at the crease. Matthew rotated the strike well throughout his innings and Moyles Court never looked in trouble, winning the game by 8 wickets with 6 overs remaining, a very comfortable victory. Matthew finishing 6 not out and Callum 11 not out.
