Moyles Court School hosted a dazzling Las Vegas themed Summer Ball last Friday, 26th June, to help raise funds for a great outdoor learning project.
The black-tie ball took place in a grand marquee on the front lawn. Guests thoroughly enjoyed canapés and fizz on arrival, a delicious 3 course dinner with wine followed by a fundraising auction and raffle. Entertainment included live music with amazing ‘Rat Pack’ artist William May, international master magician Dean Nicolas, plus casino, bar and disco.
The Ball was generously sponsored by SKM Asset Management and other local business also donated an impressive variety of auction and raffle prizes.
Richard Milner-Smith, Headmaster, comments: “We had a superb evening of fun and we are immensely grateful to those who came along and supported our fundraising for our Forest School outdoor classroom. Our Forest School programme is designed to inspire play and learning in our natural outdoor environment and the proposed eco-classroom will engage our pupils of all ages through positive outdoor experiences.”
He continues: “We hope that this facility will allow extended delivery of the Forest Schools programme to benefit the local community. Moyles Court School will provide access to the facility free of charge for use by local schools and community groups on a weekly basis with sessions led by our Forest Schools Practitioner. The site is accessible, with adequate parking for mini-buses, allowing schools and groups from a wide radius to access and benefit from the facility.”
This classroom will be an environmentally friendly design, which will blend into the forest location and provide a permanent base for forest school delivery within the Moyles Court School grounds.
