Students at Moyles Court School are celebrating academic success

Moyles Court  is celebrating a year of wonderful academic achievement. The 2015 GCSE results show a significant improvement on recent years with 80% of all grades at grade C or above. 71% of students who receive Learning Support at the school achieved 5 or more grades at A*-C, with 100% of the remaining pupils achieving 5 or more grades at A*-C. Lucy Phillips was the pick of the students with 5 A*grades, 4 A’s and 1 B grade. Overall, each student achieved just over one grade higher than they would normally be expected to achieve.

Headmaster, Richard Milner-Smith, at the end of his first year in post, is thrilled with the improvements that have been made. “I am delighted for our Year 11 students who have worked so very hard to achieve these wonderful results. They have been brilliantly supported by all the staff at our school, who also deserve enormous credit. One of my key targets as the new Head was to raise the academic profile of our school and we have got off to the best possible start.”

Not only have the Year 11 students performed well this year. Year 9 pupils passed their FCSE examinations in French and Spanish with 79% of all pupils achieving the highest possible grade, whilst the Junior School boasted a 100% pass rate for all those pupils who sat the 11+ examination for the nearby Grammar Schools.

“Our small class sizes, a dedicated staff, and not to mention our glorious location, all help to create a fantastic learning environment for our pupils. It has been a wonderful year for the school and we look forward to building on this success over the next few years,” said Richard Milner-Smith.
