logon- 50th Year celebrations at Moyles Court School

In September, former pupils who attended school at the site more than 50 years ago – under the owner Heads Mr and Mrs Striem (1947-1960) – as well as those who have been involved in the life of the school since 1963, were invited to a special celebratory day. A trip down memory lane was enjoyed as photographs and stories were shared.  The group marked the occasion by opening the celebration garden, a PTA funded project, which has been planted at the front of the school with bench seating and a sun chronometer globe (pictured). The globe has the Lisle Family and school motto “Resurgam” engraved upon it.

Community bulb planting and picnic

We enhanced our celebration gardens by inviting individuals and families to come and join us and help plant over 1500 bulbs, which were provided on the day. Greg Meakin, Headmaster comments: ‘It was important for us to involve the community in our celebrations as the history of the school and the Alice Lisle family, is significant in our local area.  There was a very warm family and community atmosphere on the day and we can’t wait to see the rewards of everyone’s hard work. Each Spring golden blooms will grace the grounds!”Community bulb plantingPupils at Moyles Court planting bulbs
