Moyles Court entertained The Park School on a beautiful afternoon and the two teams produced a game of cricket worthy of the fabulous setting. Playing the pairs format, The Park won the toss and decided to field first. Moyles got off to steady start through Sam and Ben, with Fin and Evan coming in as the second pair and playing some wonderfully attacking shots. George and Jack ensured the Moyles Court score kept increasing and Freddie and Danny added some cricketing fireworks towards the end of the innings, allowing Moyles Court to post a total of 248.
Despite losing a wicket to the very first ball of their innings, The Park slowly began to accumulate runs and were matching the required run rate over by over. Moyles bowled well, with Freddie, Lincoln and Danny all picking up a wicket each and supported by some good fielding and wicket keeping from every member of the team. With just two overs to go, the scores were level. Danny bowled the penultimate over and conceded just three runs, meaning that The Park needed six to win off the last over. Sam produced a wicket with his first ball of the over and ensured Moyles Court finished as winners by taking a further wicket to leave the visitors on 237 at the end of their overs. A fabulous win and a fantastic team effort. Well played boys.
Sam for holding his nerve and bowling so well at the death.
