Today was the first competitive game our junior squad has played in. The girls have been working on positional awareness and role responsibility to try and help them space out in game situations. This took us a while to remember and nerves played a big part at the start of our game.
Against a very strong BCS Year 6 team, the girls tried really hard to keep the ball away from our goal end, but BCS were making fast decisions, and accurate passes to get around our defence to score 6 goals in the first half.
Following our team talk, the girls came back on court with renewed enthusiasm, and showed some great passing, near misses at goal, and great defending. We only conceded 1 goal in the second half but couldn’t quite manage to find the net at the other end.
A really good effort by all the girls.
