Pupils at Moyles Court have been celebrating the Chinese New Year in style. Reception pupils made and paraded their very own Chinese Dragon (pictured below) whilst all other pupils made Chinese lanterns and fans, as well as experiencing a culture and language workshop by Mandarin teacher Jade Huang. Mrs Huang offers a Mandarin club at the school. The Year of the Snake was ushered in with the help of a 20 foot serpent made by the pupils. A Chinese Feast and lantern ceremony concluded celebrations on 12th February. Moyles Court is developing links with Shung Tak College in the New Territories of Hong Kong and four Hong Kong/Chinese students attend the school. “International awareness is important to every child’s education….it is also fun and – at times – tasty too!” Commented a school spokesperson.
