Y6 Bournemouth Collegiate 6-a-Side Football Tournament

Match Reports

Our first match in our group was against Bournemouth Collegiate School. With plenty of early possession goal opportunities fell to William and Edward who hit the post with an excellent header. As BCS began to get more possession themselves Callum produced some excellent defending to deny BCS several goal opportunities. Despite further scoring chances and against the run of play BCS scored a late winner to win 1-0.

Man-of-the-Match:  Callum

In our second game against Walhampton Edward, who began this game in goal, produced an excellent save to stop the opposition taking an early lead. This was followed up with a great shot on goal by Alex, who likewise, was denied by a good save from Walhampton’s goalkeeper. However, Walhampton took the lead with a powerful shot of their own and despite Harry battling hard in midfield and another excellent shot from Alex, Walhampton were able to score another goal to end up winning this game 2-0

Man-of-the-Match: Alex

Our third game in our group was against Stroud School. Stroud were probably the strongest team in our group and in this game we were able to produce some of our best football. All the team played well and it was no surprise when we took a 1-0 lead with an excellent goal from Harry. We managed to hang onto this lead and end up winning this game 1-0, which then took us into the Plate Competition.

In the quarter finals of the plate competition we played BCS B team. Again we played some really good football in this game. Early pressure lead to a great shot from Joshua and Edward hitting the post with another good goal attempt. Continued pressure finally ended up with William Holman scoring a goal, which gave us a 1-0 lead which we were able to hang onto until the end. This result took us through to a semi-final against Yarrells School.

Man-of-the-Match: William

In the semi-final against Yarrells we had equal possession, but we were unable to convert the goal scoring opportunities we had, into any goals. Despite periods of pressure, luck was against us and we ended up losing by 3-0.

Man-of-the-Match: Edward
