Moyles Court took part in an 11-a-side fixture against FSM and were in very high spirits before the game. The boys trained well before kick-off and worked on pressing the opposition high up the pitch, which they then carried out successfully in the match. Bobby was instrumental today as he helped press the opposition into making mistakes, with Alex setting the tone for the match by winning a few early tackles. Moyles Court counter-attacked really well and looked dangerous from corner kicks. Thomas scored with an excellent volley in what proved to be the most visually appealing goal of the game. Goals from Bobby and Harry saw Moyles Court School go into half-time leading 3-0.
The back five of Oliver in goal, Oscar and Joe as centre-backs with Archie on the left and Leo on the right proved to be a force to be reckoned with as they continually broke up the opposition’s attacks, preventing FSM from having any real shots on goal. Oliver’s quick distribution and Harry’s pace combined in the second half and saw Harry finish the game with a hat-trick of three finely taken goals to his name, with the third one resulting after a fine solo-run. Moyles Court were flawless to a man and kept a very hard earned clean sheet in what was a textbook definition of how to play away from home. One of the finest performances that will be seen this season, involving Moyles Court colours. Well done team!
