Moyles Court showed terrific improvement since their victory in the opening game of the season. Their bowling in particular was more consistent and the opposition openers found it tricky to score during Jack and Alex’s opening spells.
Alex caused the opposition’s star player to sky a ball high into the air, but despite a tremendous and brave effort in the field Moyles Court were unable to hang onto the catch. The opposition player went on to top score with over 30 runs, and a lack of application of the recently learned “long-barrier” meant that despite a good amount of effort in the field, Bournemouth Collegiate posted a good score of over 90 runs. Harrison and Evan in particular deserve praise for the improvements they showed with their bowling, and both of them nearly picked up vital wickets. Jack also yorked a batsman with the ball of the innings, and Moyles Court can feel proud of their work with the ball. Tommy also showed improved concentration behind the stumps.
When batting our players were patient and again showed terrific improvement. Perhaps a lack of aggression is something to address for future matches, but against great bowling Moyles Court lost only three wickets and posted an impressive score of nearly 50 runs.
