U11 Rugby vs Walhampton and Twyford – 6th December

Moyles Court travelled to Walhampton School on Wednesday to take part in a triangular tournament with the hosts and fellow visitors, Twyford School.

Moyles Court played their first match against Walhampton and dominated from the start. The hosts struggled to contain the power of Tommy and Ben, but it was the magnificent support play and passing that really shone on this cold afternoon. Moyles Court ended up running in 17 tries, with hat-tricks for Ben, Tommy and Sam and superb tries also for Freddie, Jack, Josh and Finley. A stunning team performance.

In their second match they faced a much bigger and stronger Twyford team who matched them all the way. Sam opened the scoring for Moyles, but Twyford hit back immediately and thus the pattern of the match was set. Tommy scored two fine tries and then in the second half further tries from Ben, Finley and Jack saw Moyles edge ahead of Twyford, who despite a late rally fell one try short, with Moyles winning 6-5.

Man-of-the-Match

A difficult decision to make on what was a brilliant team performance this afternoon. However, Josh and Jack deserve a specific mention for scoring their first tries for Moyles Court and capping off two fine performances. Well played boys.
