U11 Football vs Sopley School – 21 February 2018

Moyles Court U11 football team regrouped for this occasional fixture in the Spring term and contributed to a quite fabulous game of football. Both sides were keen to attack and Sopley were the first to score following an impressive break away. Moyles Court then had a period of extensive possession and created a number of wonderful chances, but could not find that all important final touch to equalise. Sopley scored a second, before Charlie did get Moyles Court back into the game with a clever cross that deceived the visiting keeper at the near post. Sopley struck straight back on the cusp of half time to make it 3-1 at the break and leave the hosts plenty to do in the second half.

The second half went very much as the first, with Moyles pressing consistently, but unable to find the net. Freddie and Lincoln were creating good chances and Fin, Charlie and Sam came extremely close to turning it around. However, the visitors then scored again, but Moyles refused to give up and rattled in a couple of quick goals to suddenly make the final five minutes very exciting. In the end, the visitors prevailed with a further goal in the final minute to take it beyond the reach of Moyles Court, but what a fabulous game of football. Well played boys.

Man-of-the-Match: A fantastic team effort, with every single player contributing brilliantly. Impossible to separate them!
