U11 Cricket vs Leehurst Swan School – 7 June

Match Report

This was another fabulous game of cricket and a genuine team effort from the ever spirited U11 squad. Leehurst Swan were put into bat and made a very strong start, with their openers rapidly accumulating runs. Just when they looked on course for a huge total, debutant Lincoln turned the game around with a wonderful piece of bowling and fielding to run out one of their opening batsmen. Jack then removed the other opener soon after and Leehurst’s run rate quickly diminished. Some further excellent bowling from Ben, Harrison and Sam, backed up with some brilliant fielding from Rohan and Lewis, kept the visitors under pressure. The icing on the cake was then applied by Lincoln, who claimed his second run out of the game, with a direct hit from cover point. A fabulous effort from all of the team that limited Leehurst to just 69 runs.

However, Moyles had a difficult start to their innings, losing both openers to some impressive bowling from Leehurst. Harrison and Rohan rebuilt the innings with great patience and skill, with Rohan scoring particularly freely. However, when these two fell in quick succession, Moyles struggled to keep up with the required run rate and finished 20 runs short of the Lee Hurst total. It was a super team effort, well played boys.

Man-of-the-Match
