This week the U11s cricket team were on the road to Salisbury to play against Leehurst Swan. The team departed in high spirits after an impressive performance in their last match. The stage was set for a fantastic victory with glorious weather and scenic views in the grounds. Sam won the toss and decided to bat second. LHS opened the batting.
The game continued smoothly with very few runs being given away due to some fantastic bowling. The team’s perseverance paid off with two lovely wickets from Freddie and Ben, as well as a nice catch from Evan. At the end of the innings Moyles were left chasing 55-3.
First into bat were Finley and Charlie. They opened really well, getting runs and hitting some really lovely shots from some impressive bowling. Sam and Freddie batting second had a super innings scoring 30 runs. Then it hit…. Rain! Which started as a drizzle and then a torrent, finally leading to the game being called off.
At the end of the game we decided on a draw the score being LHS 55-3 and Moyles 30-2 but had only received six overs. All in all, a very enjoyable and outstanding performance from the team. I enjoyed every second! Well done!!
