The opening game of the season was a definite ‘three jumper’ occasion, but the cold weather did not prevent a very exciting game of cricket from taking place. MC won the toss and put the hosts into bat and tight bowling from Sam and Freddie ensured a positive start.
Freddie made the initial breakthrough and then Lincoln came on to take three quick wickets, one thanks to a great catch by Charlie. Ben also bowled extremely well and he took two wickets as BCS looked to up their run rate. The hosts eventually finished on 85-8 at the end of their 16 overs.
In reply MCS made a good start with Ben and Fin batting well together. As they departed Sam and Freddie came together and the runs started to flow freely. These two put on 46 for the third wicket, before Freddie was eventually out and then Sam retired soon after having scored 20 attractive runs. Moyles pushed close to reaching their target, but eventually ran out of overs, finishing just short on 74-5. What a great start to the season.
Man-of-the-Match: Lincoln for his great spell of bowling.
