Children at Moyles Court School have helped to raise almost £800 to buy and sponsor a puppy, to be trained by local charity Woofability. The charity trains dogs to perform many tasks to help disabled people, including emptying the washing machine, picking up the post, getting the telephone, helping to dress and undress, taking a purse to the till, pressing a button at traffic lights. By far the most important benefit is giving confidence to help people become more independent which leads to re-integration into society. “This is just the start or our partnership with Woofability. As well as raising awareness of these issues and learning to care for others, the pupils learn the entrepreneurial skills of fundraising.....and have lots of fun!” Explains Headmaster, Mr Meakin. Jonathan Crosser from Hays Education who works in partnership with Moyles Court visited the school last week to present a donation of £400.
