London Marathon Fundraiser

Richard Oliver  - dad of Oscar in Class 4 - completed the London Marathon on 25th April in just over 4 hours. His inspiration to take part was to raise money for the charity HemiHelp, which supports children who suffer from the condition Hemiplegia.  This is a type of cerebral palsy, resulting from damage to the parts of the brain controlling muscle movements.  The term hemiplegia means that the paralysis is on one vertical half of the body. Mr and Mrs Oliver’s daughter Mia has the condition after suffering meningitis as a baby. Moyles Court helped support the fundraising by holding a mufti-day on 26th April, the day after the marathon. Headmaster Mr Meakin comments: “The challenge of a marathon to raise funds and awareness for good causes is an inspiring undertaking. We are delighted to contribute and Mr Oliver is an inspiration to us all.” Richard has exceeded his target of raising £1,500 for HemiHelp.” Find out more about the charity at www.hemihelp.org.uk
