Moyles Court Boarding School - a home from home

The boarding school houses and staff at our highly regarded independent school offer the continuity, security and support of a caring extended family. Boarding pupils often refer to Moyles Court as a “home from home”.

“The pastoral care given to boarders is a strong feature of the school. Parents and staff describe 'a family environment' and this is created through the pastoral structure. Housemothers provide consistent care...” Ofsted Inspection Report, November 2009"

Children may board at Moyles Court from Year 3 (8 years old). Often senior pupils will opt for boarding as the GCSE examinations approach. Structured study times lack the distractions of a busy household and younger brothers or sisters.

A flexible boarding experience is offered, including weekly boarding (Sunday evening/Monday morning until Friday evening), full boarding (7 days a week) and flexi boarding where families may choose which weekends to stay or whether to board for shorter periods of time.

“New boarders have the opportunity to visit and sleep overnight before becoming a full boarder. If preferred, the number of boarding nights can gradually increase at a pace comfortable to the pupil and their parents. Some parents report how they appreciate this flexibility allowing the child and the rest of the family to adjust to boarding routines. The new boarders described how they were made to feel welcome and how other boarders were assigned to help and show them around.” Ofsted Inspection Report, November 2009

The Headmaster has worked in boarding schools all his career and was a Deputy Head in an international school in Brussels. Moyles Court welcomes children from all faiths and nationalities through a caring Christian ethos.

“The boarding staff work well together to meet the pastoral needs of the boarders and qualified nurses ensure that health and medical needs are well met. Boarders enjoy their boarding experience where they feel happy and safe.” Ofsted Inspection Report, November 2009
