Safety underpins everything we do. We have rigorous Ofsted approved safeguarding systems including:
In most cases, unless the weather conditions make it dangerous to run activities, most activities will run as usual. All groups will have a dry base in which to keep their bags and packed lunches. We recommend that young people come equipped with waterproof clothing and appropriate footwear for wet weather. Only in extreme weather conditions would sessions be cancelled. In this unlikely event, we do have a full size sports hall where we have plenty of active games to keep young people busily active and entertained.
Each group will be 'age grouped' and have between 10-12 young people per group. If your child comes with a friend you can ask for them to be placed in the same group.
Each person will bring a morning snack and a packed lunch and a drinks bottle which can be refilled throughout the day. We do not check lunches but respectfully ask you not to put nut products in packed lunches.
Leaders are first aid qualified and will be able to deal with most issues. If, however, a child wishes to go home we will contact the parent/guardian to arrange collection. Of course unwell children should not attend.
Each child should bring a towel and swimming costume each day, a change of clothing, waterproof coat, morning snack, packed lunch , drinks bottle, sun hat and sun cream. (Please ensure all items of clothing are named, including footwear).
