Mr Meakin, Headmaster, recently attended the ISA meeting at Trinity School which holds the regional Art competition and we are delighted to announce a clutch of winners from Moyles Court School. The results were as follows:

Winner- 3D Art, Key Stage 4: Jennifer ‘Blooming’

2nd place: 3D Art: Carlos ‘Alien Pod’

2nd place: 2D Art: Isabel ‘After O’Keefe

Highly Commended: Jordyn ‘Papercut’

Highly Commended: Year 7 group work ‘Postcard Prints’

Mr Meakin comments: “Congratulations to all our entrants and watch this space to see our winners, Jennifer, Carlos and Isabel go through to the National Finals next year.”

Also our ‘Big Draw’ event took place in November, leading to a submission of GCSE ‘Action’ painting for the International ‘Drawing Inspiration Awards’ run by the Campaign for Drawing. We received some great feedback from the judges and were short listed for the prize. The judging panel wrote a personal letter stating: “The short list, which included your entry, was more impressive than ever. Although your organisation did not win an award this time, the jury wanted me to pass on their congratulations and admiration for what you achieved. The rivalry was intense!”

Well done to Jasmine, Sarah , Alex, Isabel, Laurie, Morgan, Jennifer, Jordyn, Tom and Carlos for their submissions.
